Admission Procedure

INTAKE

The intake is 50 (1 Unit)  students. 38 Students are Admit by C.E.T. cell on merit basis and 12 Students are admit by the management. Both arts and Science Students are admitted more or less on equal proportion.

ALLOCATION OF SEATS

  1. College shall admit all the candidates allotted by the Government of Karnataka through Centralized Admission Cell (CET) Bangalore.
  2. For admit the management seats the college shall select the candidates eligibility criteria as envisaged in regulation.
  3. The college shall admit the selected candidates, both under Government quota and management quota, within the last date fixed for admission by the government and Kuvempu University.
  4. The total intake of  B.Ed., colleges shall be 50(1 Unit) or as fixed by Government of Karnataka from time to time.
  5. Management seats: The respective institutions shall admit the eligible candidates for admissions in respect of Management seats and fill up such seats in accordance with the eligibility criteria and merit as per regulations. The list of admitted candidates shall be got approved by the University.
  6. The total number of admission of Candidates in the colleges from outside Karnataka State should not exceed more than twenty percent of the total prescribed intake under any circumstance.

Reservation

The reservations are allowed as per Govt. orders issued from time to time.

Kannada Med. Reservation 5% For those who have studied in Kannada Medium from 1st std to 10th std. Female Reservation 30% If sufficient number of women candidates are not available, such seats shall be filled by men candidates. Physically Handicapped 3% Percentage of disability shall not be less than 40% and shall not exceed 75% ( 1% of seats for Visually Impaired, 1% of seats for Hearing Impaired & 1% of seats for Orthopedically Handicapped will be reserved.)

In each institution a maximum of 3% of Govt. Quota Seats will be reserved. Admission to B.Ed course is made keeping in view Section 32 (Persons with disabilities)(equal opportunities) (protection of right and full participation) of act 1995 - Govt. Notification No. DPAR/52/SRR/99/ dated 29-11-2002. Physically Handicapped candidates at the time of admission have to produce Medical certificate (in the format given at Annexure) obtained from District Medical Board compulsorily with all other original certificates. In this medical certificate percentage of disability should be mentioned. Only Physically handicapped candidates producing medical certificate obtained from District Medical Board will be considered under PH Reservation. PH Candidates who fail to produce Medical Certificate obtained from District Medical Board will not be considered under PH Reservation. Candidates with hearing defect have to undergo Audiogram Test on their own responsibility at “National Institute of Mental Health and Neurological Sciences (NIMHANS) Hospital, Hosur Road, Bangalore or at Sanjaygandhi Accident and Research Institute Hospital, Jayanagar East, Byrasandra, Bangalore and obtain the report, produce the same before the District Medical Board. The medical certificate issued by the District Medical Board (in the format given at Annexure) has to be produced with all other original certificates during admission. Candidates whose disability is exceeding 75% are not eligible for B.Ed Course. Candidates whose percentage of disability is less than 40% and became ineligible by the medical board will be considered under general selection as per merit and roster.

University Fees Extra,

Government Quota SC/ST tribes Students (Within the Income of 2.50 Lakhs) are exempted from the payment of the Above fees, The students must apply post metric scholarship if fees not released by the Social welfare department concerned students must pay the fees at the time of final examination.

Documents to be produced & submission at the time of Admission.

  1. Original Marks Cards of SSLC, PUC & Degree marks card duly signed by the Head of the Department. + Two Photo copy of the same.
  2. T. C. Original + One Photo copy of the same.
  3. Original Caste Certificate of SC/ST students + One Photocopy of the same.
  4. Original Income certificate of the other BCM students if within Rs. 44,500/- + One Photocopy of the same.
  5. Original PH certificate issued by the District Medical Board of the concerned District + One Photocopy of the same.
  6. Photos : Passport size photos - 2 and stamp size photo – 1
  7. 1 to 10 standard Study Certificate, Kannada Medium Study Certificates, Rural Study Certificate duly signed by the Head of the institution & Concerned department in prescribed format given by the government Original + One Photocopy of the same (For Government Quota student)
  8. Migration certificate for the University (For Other University students)
  9. A candidates who have obtained degree from Universities outside the Karnataka shall obtain Eligibility Certificate from the Kuvempu University before seeking admission to the B. Ed course.
  10. Rules and Regulations
    1. Admission of candidates is made by considering the marks obtained at the degree examination.
    2. Students should abide by the rules and regulations in force framed from time to time by the college authorities.
    3. Students will not be admitted to the college again to the succeeding years / semester unless their attendance, progress and conduct are satisfactory.
    4. Reservation of seats will be made in accordance with the Government rules in force. Students should submit caste / Income certificate issued by the revenue authorities.
    5. At the time of admission. Original Marks Card and Transfer Certificate of Degree, Caste / Income certificate should be submitted.
    6. Students of other University / states, seeking admission to first year course should obtain eligibility certificate from the Registrar, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta.
    7. Using Mobile Phone on the campus is strictly Prohibited.
    8. If a student loses a library book, he/she must either arrange to replace the book within a month or pay double the price of the book.
    9. Class tests will be conducted to assess the performance of the student for the purpose of internal assessment.
    10. Students must read all the information put up on the notice board of the college.
    11. Parents are required to meet the principal and the class mentor frequently to keep themselves in touch with the attendance and progress of their wards.

General Instructions

  • Irregular attendance, indifference with regard to class work, tests and assignments, discourtesy towards lectures, insubordination, obscenity in word or act. Willful damage to college property are liable for disciplinary action which includes warning, fine, withholdings of certificates and expulsion from the college.
  • No student shall enter the class or leave the class without the permission of the lecturer.
  • Students who are not in the class at the commencement of each period will be marked absent for the period.
  • Students who have no classes shall not loiter in corridors or disturb class in progress.
  • Student of each section will be under the care of a Class Mentor nominated by the Principal. They should be in touch with the Mentors regularly
  • The properties of the college are meant for the benefit of the students. They must be used with care and protected at all costs.
  • Students should refrain from ragging in any form for which an undertaking will be given to the principal at the time of admission.
  • On admission, every student will receive an identity card, which invariably carries his passport size photo and the principal’s signature on it. He must present the identity card whenever it is required.
  • Using Mobile Phone in the campus is strictly Prohibited.
